March 20, 2012—1st 5D Software Club Date

Bags & Bobbins is starting a “NEW” 5D Software Club provided for owners of 5D Embroidery, 5D Embroidery Extra and 5D Suite (Pfaff’s version) 5D Pro owners are also welcome (Viking’s version).

The 5D Software consists of several parts (modules) and we could concentrate on just one module (5D Embroidery Extra) for every single class, but in all fairness to the 5D Suite owners, we need to explore all aspects of each module; some more than others, so a guideline of classes will be offered stating the module we will be working in. This is important for the owners that ONLY have 5D Embroidery or 5D Embroidery Extra, so they can sign up for those specific months instead of the complete series.

We will be focusing on learning the software tools and techniques instead of project-based classes which may be included later.

Students will be given written handouts that were created by SVP Worldwide specifically for dealers and their teachers. These are not the PDF files that are installed when you installed your software, although you are encouraged to print those out for your personal use at home which includes “quick exercises” in the software.  The provided handouts that you will receive each month for the club, will be used as the “lesson plan” and we will expand on that information by becoming familiar with the “tools” and “menu” options used in the lesson for that month. Questions and comments on the lesson will helpful, too, for a better understanding of what we are doing in the software and for any problems you may encounter. Also, we will discuss what you want to do in the software.

There are always “shortcuts” when working in the software and more than one way to accomplish a task, so you will be given a written “cheat sheet” to help you remember these functions.

As stated above, the first club will convene on March 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. This is for all 5D Embroidery, 5D Embroidery Extra and 5D Suite owners. The club will run approximately 2 hours. We will start out by showing you where you can find ALL the files for your 5D Software, then you will learn how to create a folder for your lessons and how to find that information, later in Windows Explorer and in 5D Organizer.  This is just some basic stuff, but important to help when working with the software. If time permits, then we will get into 5D Embroidery.

 Pre-registration is required.

A list for the rest of the club sessions forthcoming.
